Jandoli Institute will host Twitter chat about music and the pandemic

The Jandoli Institute will host a live Twitter Chat on Tuesday, May 12, on the role of music during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Music and entertainment are playing important roles during the pandemic,” Jandoli Institute Executive Director Richard Lee said. “They fill a gap that news media and government cannot.”

The chat will run from 7 to 8 p.m. Individuals can follow the discussion and tweet questions and comments by using the hashtag #JandoliChat.

Panelists will include:

  • Patrick Hosken, editor at MTV News and a 2012 graduate of the Jandoli School of Communication at St. Bonaventure University.
  • Carole McNall, an assistant professor in the Jandoli School. McNall serves as adviser to WSBU-FM, the university’s radio station. She has hosted a program at the station for more than 10 years.
  • Stephen Wilt, a senior journalism major in the Jandoli School. Wilt was station manager at WSBU-FM for two years. He writes about and hosts podcasts about popular music.

Lee, a Jandoli School associate professor, will moderate the Twitter chat. He covered rock’n’roll as a reporter and often writes about the intersection of music and current events.
