Sharp Notes Monday: ‘Helen Wheels’

By Richard Lee

In the early 1970s, Paul and Linda McCartney named their Land Rover “Hell on Wheels,” and it led to a song they recorded for Wings — “Helen Wheels.”

The Category 4 hurricane causing devastation  across the Southeastern United States has a slightly different name — “Helene,” but for those affected by the storm, it has been a hell of sorts.

Music sometimes can provide comfort, so we offer “Helen Wheels” as this week’s Sharp Notes Monday selection.

Richard Lee, executive director of the Jandoli Institute, is a former music journalist who often writes about the intersection of music and current events.
