On Presidents Day, we honor those who have served as the nation’s chief executive
From George Washington to Joe Biden, our leaders have made decisions that charted the country’s direction.
But presidents are not the only powerful people affecting the state of the nation. Lobbyists, big business, the military industrial complex and the CIA are among the other non-elected entities that influence decision-making.
As David Crosby sang on his fist solo album, “I wonder who they are… The men who really run this land.”
We lost Crosby just a month ago, but he left us with a catalog of music that continues to provide food for thought.
Take a listen to this week’s Sharp Notes Monday selection, “What Are Their Name” written by Crosby with Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, Michael Shrieve and Neil Young.
As part of our “Sharp Notes, Sharp Thoughts” music and social media project, we share a song every Monday to start your week.
