Sharp Notes Monday: ‘Count Me In’

While our Sharp Notes, Sharp Thoughts music and social media project was on hiatus for the summer, we shared a song every Monday to start your week. We’ve decided to make Sharp Notes Monday a permanent feature.

Election Day day has come and gone, but votes still are being counted. The final counts will determine which party controls the House of Representatives.

“Count Me In,” the title of a 1965 hit single by Gary Lewis and the Playboys, is a sentiment shared by candidates in the races that remain undecided.

Another reason to choose the song for Sharp Notes Monday this week are its lyrics, which could work well as a campaign message:

If you need someone to count on
Count me in
Someone you can rely on
Through thick and thin
