A snapshot of how US and UK media preferences compare

In the summer of 2025, as part of a course at the University of Oxford’s Trinity College, St. Bonaventure University students conducted a study of media preferences in the United States and the United Kingdom.

The students compared news sites in each country, focusing on the “most read” and “most popular” sections to determine if there was a significant difference in the types of stories the two audiences preferred.

Here is what they found.
