
Today is a big day in Washington – and a big day for the nation. Presidential inaugurations are an important part of our democracy.
One president leaves office. A new president puts his hand on the Bible and swears an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
The ceremony and all the pomp and circumstances can be summed up by paraphrasing a line from the Beatles song “Hello, Goodbye”: Biden, says goodbye; Trump says hello.
And other lines of the song might be more appropriate because they illustrate the differences between the two presidents:
You say, “Yes”, I say, “No”
You say, “Stop” and I say, “Go, go, go”
