The field for the Republican nomination for president became a bit smaller yesterday when Sen. Tim Scott dropped out of the race.

Scott’s departure follows former Vice President Mike Pence’s decision to suspend his campaign for the White House.

Former President Donald Trump is running far ahead of the other GOP candidates. Recent polls show him more than 40 points ahead of his nearest rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
