Sharp Notes Monday: ‘Question’

Republican presidential candidates will square off for their second debate this week.

Candidates of both parties have made it a habit to avoid direct answers to the questions posed by debate moderators. They often respond to the questions, but instead of answering what was asked, they switch to talking points to drive home their message in the hope of finding a sound bite that will go viral.

Accordingly, Moody Blues song “Question” is this week’s Sharp Notes Monday selection, largely because of lyrics like these:

Why do we never get an answer when we’re knocking at the door?
Because the truth, it’s hard to swallow.

As part of our “Sharp Notes, Sharp Thoughts” music and social media project, we share a song every Monday to start your week.
