At the behest of its new owner, Twitter is being rebranded to X and the Twitter bird logo is being phased out.

For longtime Twitter users, changes at the platform are not limited to its name. Under Elon Musk’s leadership, Twitter/X has been criticized for promoting conspiracy theories, hate speech and selected political agendas.

A line from an early Beatle song sums up the sentiment of unhappy Twitter users who want the old name and all its trappings back: “I call your name, but you’re not there.”
