Smoke drifting down from eastern Canadian wildfires left us with hazy skies and poor air quality last week.
Hopefully, a summer of clear blue skies is ahead — the type of skies Irving Berline had had in mind when he wrote these words nearly 100 years ago:
Blue skies, smilin’ at me
Nothin’ but blues skies do I see
That song, “Blue Skies,” has been covered numerous times over the years. One of the best versions was recorded by Willie Nelson for his 1978 Stardust album.
As part of our “Sharp Notes, Sharp Thoughts” music and social media project, we share a song every Monday to start your week.
